In Zombies Ate My Pizza players step into the shoes of one of the survivors of the apocalypse in this 3-D side scroller action shooter that is completely free to play and can be accessed directly through your web browser without the need for a client download. With action packed gameplay, character and weapon customisation and a long driving story arc that progresses through hundreds of levels of content players will be smiling at both the utter carnage they unleash on the battlefield and the “cheesy” pizza-based humour that carries on throughout the entire game.

Civilisation has been brought to its knees and humankind is on the verge of extinction after an evil race of alien bugs have travelled to our planet and unleashed a deadly virus on its people. This virus infects a person’s mind, turning them into a soft dough brained zombie that now sees living beings as huge pieces of pizza ready for devouring. The one thing standing in the way of this ravenous pizza loving horde are the bands of human militia that have formed around the world creating pockets of resistance taking the fight back to the alien invaders.

Using a delicate illustrated cartoony style and 3-D side scroller graphics the game plays cleanly and casually and is extremely easy to get into and fun. Players move the cursor around with their mouse and use the left mouse button to fire at the swarms of zombies trying to take them down, using WASD keys to move around the map and number keys to perform powerful skills that will obliterate enemies. Enemies come in different forms from typical slow zombies to ranged opponents, elite versions with more health and mini bosses with unique strategies and attacks. Once a level has been completed players are given a score to indicate how well they did, players can replay the levels to try and improve their score.

Contend with the increasing challenge of combat as the zombies grow both in number and power players to will unlock new skills as they level up. These skills typically allow players to perform AOE attacks that can decimate groups of zombies in seconds, handy for when those waves begin to swarm upon you. Similarly players can unlock new weapons and equipment to make them stronger in battle and improve their battle ranking and overall combat strength. Items and gear can be purchased as players level up and even enhanced and upgraded special points that are earned through gameplay. Gear comes in many forms from manual weapons to automatic weapons that auto fire at enemies as soon as they appear to armour that can be placed in different slots and items such as stamina packs to keep you in the fight.

Whilst the large element of the game is PVE focused, at later levels players will unlock a variety of different PVP options such as death matches, tournaments and player militia wars.
