Genre Type: F2P Card Trading MMO Platform Accessibility: Web Browser Development By: Iron Belt Studios This strategic fantasy-based trading card game is a free to play MMO that allows players to earn around 300 unique cards to build up a powerful deck and use their strategy and tactical prowess to defeat challenging AI opponents as well as real world players in 1v1 duels. Cards are divided into a variety of factions and unit types and depending upon the build of a players deck can create countless opportunities and strategies in the game forcing players to react to each individual battle in a unique way. Battle for Gea can be played directly through your Internet browser with no client download needed and a quick and easy registration process to allow players to gain access to the game effortlessly. The various cards in the game are divided among ten different factions, each of which are split into one of three different Forces (allegiances); Chaos, Neutral and Order, players are able to build a deck from the armies within each Force e.g. combining the orcs from The Horde with the vampires from the Vampire Dukes faction. Each faction has its own unique Generals, unique cards that determine a players hit points in the match (referred to as Morale), the main purpose of a match is to reduce the opposing Generals’ Morale score as much as possible through the various fights and the first player to lose all Morale is defeated or the player that has the lowest Morale score when the battle has ended. Generals also have an original Command points value that when applied to fighting unit cards will multiply their strength score depending on how many Command points, if a unit has a strength of 5 and the player applies 3 Command Points that units strength will multiply three times increasing its strength to 15, however the Command Points pool is limited and so players must use them strategically. The other original type card is the Support card, which acts similar to a General card in that both have a unique ability that directly passively affects the Combat Unit cards whilst these individual cards take no actions directly. Combat Unit cards are broken down into four different unit types: Projectiles, Cavalry, Infantry and Colossus. In a battle players will draw four of these cards and place them onto their three front line positions and one on the rearguard position. Front-line troops can only attack or defend against the enemy unit that are in front of that card, whereas the rearguard unit can defend against any attacking enemy unit. Each turn the attacker chooses which units they want to attack with and the defender can privately choose which of their units they want to use to defend with, from here players apply any Command Points to boost their strength and then both units face each other, after all Combat Point multipliers and individual ability improvements from the Unit itself or from General /Support cards the cards with the highest strength score wins the battle and deals its damage against the opposing generals morale.
